The mission of the South Carolina Geographic Alliance is to provide South Carolina students and educators with innovative and effective practices, materials, and research to improve geography education. The Alliance advocates for an informed, geographically-literate population able to participate and compete as responsible citizens within a global economy.

iCivics promotes civics education and encourages students to become active citizens. Founded by retired Supreme Court of the United States Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, the web-based education project was created out of a concern that students' failing grades on civics examinations were due to inadequate information and tools required for civic participation, and that civics teachers needed better materials and support. iCivics is a web-based education project that offers an array of free interactive games and activities for students.


The South Carolina Council for African American Studies is a professional organization for persons interested in any aspect of African American history and instruction.Through SCCAAS we are building significant networks for instructors and parents at all levels to share “best practices” and current trends in teaching African American history and culture as a seamless part of American history.




The National Council for Geographic Education (NCGE) is a non-profit organization, chartered in 1915 to enhance the status and quality of geography teaching and learning. NCGE supports geography teaching at all levels- from Kindergarten through University. Our members include U.S. and International teachers, professors, students, businesses, and others who support geographic education.


The South Carolina Bar Association Law Related Educaiton (LRE) is a service arm of the Bar that, since the mid-1980s, has provided teachers, school resource officers, juvenile justice personnel and lawyers with resources, materials and technical assistance to teach law and citizenship education.



The  mission of SC Economics is to make South Carolina a better place to live by advocating for and ensuring that K-12 teachers are well-prepared to educate and empower South Carolina's youth with economic education and financial literacy.
